FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Which companies must have a statutory audit?
Art. 35 of Law ZRU-677 lists joint-stock companies, banks and other credit institutions, insurers, agricultural cooperatives, investment and other pooled funds, charitable and public funds, entities with a state share, exchanges, and commercial organisations meeting two of three criteria: assets above 100,000 BCV, revenue above 200,000 BCV, more than 100 employees on average. See the statutory-audit page for the full list and exceptions.
Statutory auditHow much does an audit cost?
Depends on size, number of transactions, industry and the state of records. Indicative “from” prices are shown on each service page and in the calculator; the final fee is fixed in the contract before work starts.
How long does it take?
Statutory audit usually takes 3–8 weeks; a review engagement 2–3 weeks. Exact dates are set in the contract and depend on how quickly data is provided.
Can the audit be done remotely?
Largely yes, through secure document exchange; inventory count observation and some procedures require a site visit.
What is the difference between a voluntary and a statutory audit?
A statutory audit is required by law (Art. 35); a voluntary audit is ordered by owners or management, and its scope is agreed with them.
Can you keep our books and audit us as well?
No. Law ZRU-677 (Art. 34) and the IESBA Code restrict combining audit with certain related services. Our policy: we do not keep the books or prepare the financial statements of companies we audit.
Do you work with IFRS?
Yes: conversion from National Accounting Standards of Uzbekistan (NAS) to IFRS, first-time adoption and IFRS reporting. We do not audit statements we prepared.
How is confidentiality ensured?
Art. 8 of Law ZRU-677 prohibits disclosure without written consent, with exceptions set by AML/CFT and anti-corruption law. We sign an NDA on request and restrict access to the engagement team.
What happens if the audit finds errors?
We discuss each misstatement with management and propose adjustments (ISA 450). Management decides on corrections; uncorrected material misstatements affect the auditor’s opinion (ISA 705).
Is your liability insured?
Yes. Insurance is mandatory under Art. 29 of Law ZRU-677. IMPEX INSURANCE JSC · UZS 5,000,000,000.
