The documents to gather before fieldwork begins.
Dilora Saydamenova · Director
Agree the document set with your auditor and appoint a person responsible for information exchange. This checklist covers the main records for the year under audit.
- Charter, state registration certificate, minutes and decisions of participants for the year
- Accounting policy and its amendments
- Trial balance and general ledger for the year; financial statements (balance sheet, income statement) and notes
- Bank statements and confirmations of balances
- Fixed-asset register and depreciation; results of the annual inventory count
- Receivables and payables ageing; reconciliation statements with counterparties
- Key contracts with customers, suppliers and lenders; loan agreements
- Customs declarations and import documents (for importers)
- E-invoice registers; tax returns; reconciliation of settlements with the budget
- Payroll registers and staff list
- List of related parties and transactions with them
- Prior-year auditor’s report and management letter; information on legal claims
Send these documents before fieldwork starts — this shortens the audit and reduces the number of questions.
